After serving his articles with Mills & Mills LLP, Jim joined the firm in March 1973 and in 1979 he was welcomed as a partner. Jim’s business law practice involves advising in general corporate/commercial areas including incorporation, amalgamation and other corporate restructuring, preparing and advising with respect to commercial contracts, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements and licences, share and asset purchase and sale agreements and related transactional documents, business financing documentation and other corporate/commercial documentation with an emphasis on owner managed businesses. Jim’s real estate law practice includes purchases, sales and financing of commercial, industrial, multi-unit, church, recreational and residential properties, as well as commercial leasing and related landlord and tenant matters. Jim’s wills and estates law practice involves estate planning including business succession planning, the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney and estate administration.
