Garrett practices exclusively in the area of estate, trust, and capacity litigation, and regularly advises clients on contested disputes including will challenge applications, dependant’s support claims, guardianship applications, trustee and attorney disputes, and passings of accounts. Garrett also advises trustees and fiduciaries in all matters pertaining to the administration of estates and trusts, and in preparing applications for a certificate of appointment.
Garrett returned to Mills & Mills LLP as an associate in 2021, having previously articled with the firm in 2016 before then practicing as an associate at a top estate litigation boutique firm in downtown Toronto. Garrett obtained a Juris Doctor from Western University in 2016 and a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University. While attending law school, Garrett volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada at a legal aid clinic in London, Ontario, assisting vulnerable and disadvantaged clients on appeals to the Social Benefits Tribunal.
Garrett is a member of the Toronto Lawyers Association New Lawyers Committee, The Advocates’ Society, the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations, and has regularly volunteered with Toronto Lawyers Feed the Hungry.
