Philip joined Mills & Mills LLP in 1999 as a LegalShield Associate. LegalShield – Ontario started June 20, 1999 and Philip was the first lawyer at Mills & Mills LLP assigned to LegalShield (then, PrePaidLegal) on a full-time basis.

Philip received his Bachelor of Arts (English) from Victoria University at the University of Toronto and his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1970. Philip was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1972.

At the beginning of his career, Philip worked in private practice in Windsor, Ontario, defending insured motorists in motor vehicle accident civil litigation. From 1974-1999 he worked as a solicitor at the Corporation of the City of Hamilton, including 9 months as Acting City Solicitor.

Philip enjoys that his work at Mills & Mills LLP provides variety and involves working on many individual matters for a wide range of LegalShield members. The work requires advising in practical, legal ways on how to deal with typical, ordinary life event legal problems such as insurance claims, contracts, housing, financial, business, employment, and litigation. Philip, along with other LegalShield Lawyers, provides affordable, useful legal advice, in a convenient and expeditious manner, that might otherwise be unavailable due to cost, distance or unfamiliarity with the legal system.
